Christabel trained as a figurative painter and sculptor at The London Atelier of Representational Art. Since 2008 her work has increasingly focused on the relationship between people and their environment. With photographic stillness, her paintings explore city life; from a street scene or lone figure in a gallery, to a building bathed in sunlight. Her works often deal with contemporary screen culture and how easy it has become to instantaneously collect and enhance images, visually manipulating the world around us.
